The Center for Professional Development





Arts education is critical in laying the foundation for youth to experience profound creativity, enhance intellectual ability, learn knowledge and skills for a lifetime and future employment and higher education, and explore exciting new worlds.

this belief in mind and supports District and community efforts that enrich the lives of children and young adults by allowing personal expression through the arts.


The department supports educators, staff, administrators and schools through high quality professional development, curriculum articulation, programming, communication, grant and donation seeking, and arts and community partnerships and partnership programs.


Arts for All is the umbrella heading that the Center has adopted. Arts for All strives for excellence and quality in teaching and learning in and through the arts which is fundamental to a complete education for all students.


Students receive an

Honors Exhibition, College of Visual Arts Gallery
essential arts education taught by arts specialists and other educators. Students also extend their arts learning through arts integration with other content areas. Arts, cultural and community organization partnerships, teaching artists, families, mentors, performances, exhibitions and after-school programs all contribute to expanding student's knowledge and appreciation of the arts, cultures, humanity and capacity for academic, creative, artistic endeavors.
