The HITS kick off reception was held on February 15, 2006 at the Minnesota Historical Society. The event included a presentation featuring Harriet Bishop, portrayed by a history player with the Minnesota Historical Society. Harriet Bishop was chosen because she was St. Paul's first public school teacher.
